Label A Shark

Updated: Jul 7, 2021

We have been focusing on sharks the week leading up to shark week and it has been so much fun!

After reading books together about different kinds of sharks and what makes them thrive in the sea, this worksheet created by Sam at Simple Everyday Mom was a fun way to go over the anatomy of a shark.

What you'll need for this activity :

  1. Coloring pencils, crayons or markers

  2. A glue stick

Now, you are ready to go!

First, I cut the labels for the anatomy of a shark.

Then, Ashley colored in the shark using two shades of blue colored pencils.

Once, she was finished coloring she used a glue stick for each shark label. Surprisingly, she remembered most of the parts of the shark and needed little assistance differentiating between the pectoral and caudal fin. (This could partly be because we had just read a book about the anatomy of a shark) Older children may not need any assistance at all.

The other two pages of the printable offered by Sam at SImple Everyday Mom discuss the importance of shark conservation. I will hold on to these and make sure I implement them into next years shark week when Ashley will be older.
